What JuaBei is

JuaBei is operated by JuaBei Technologies Limited, a company registered in Kenya (No. PVT-9L196KZ9), reachable by post at P.O. Box 69665, 00400 Nairobi.

JuaBei is an information service for shoppers in Kenya. We collect prices and delivery rates from online merchants, currently Jumia and Kilimall, and show you what a product would cost delivered to your county, including any cash-on-delivery fee.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Prices can be out of date

We collect prices, delivery rates and fees from merchants' public product pages on a schedule, currently about once a day. Prices, stock, delivery charges and promotions on those sites change constantly, and they change without telling us.

So treat everything you see here as a guide, not a quotation. Always confirm the final price on the merchant's own page before you pay. Where a merchant's price differs from the price shown on JuaBei, the merchant's price is the real one, and we are not liable for the difference or for a decision you made on the basis of a figure that had gone stale.

What we will not do: invent a discount, show a struck-through "old" price we never actually recorded, or present an estimate as though it were confirmed. Delivery and cash-on-delivery amounts are worked out from the rates we have recorded for the county you choose, so they are estimates of the same kind.

We are not the seller

JuaBei does not sell, stock, ship or take payment for anything. When you tap through to a merchant you leave JuaBei and buy from that merchant, under that merchant's own terms.

Orders, payment, delivery, warranties, returns, refunds, counterfeit goods and any dispute are between you and the merchant. We cannot cancel an order, chase a delivery or issue a refund on their behalf. We do not control merchant sites and are not responsible for their content or their practices, and listing a merchant or a product is not an endorsement of it.

Price alerts

Price-drop alerts run on WhatsApp. They are opt-in and best effort: we cannot guarantee that an alert is sent, that it arrives, or that it arrives before the price moves again. Do not rely on an alert as your only way of knowing what something costs.

Acceptable use

Use JuaBei for your own shopping. Please do not:

• Scrape, bulk-download, resell or republish our comparison data.
• Interfere with the site, work around its security, or put an unreasonable load on it.
• Sign anyone else up for alerts, or use a phone number you do not control.
• Use the site for anything unlawful.

We may withdraw access that breaks these rules.

Intellectual property

The JuaBei name, the design of the site, and the comparison work itself, including how listings are matched and how landed cost is calculated, belong to us. Product names, descriptions, images and trademarks belong to the merchants and brands, and are shown to identify the products being compared.

Availability and errors

The service is provided as it is. It may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn, and it can contain mistakes: a listing may be missing, matched to the wrong product, or out of stock at the merchant by the time you get there.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of JuaBei, including a price that turned out to be wrong or out of date, a purchase that went wrong at a merchant, or the site being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy, linked at the bottom of this page.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
